Opening Day

Opening Day is one of my favorite holidays. The city is energized and hope springs eternal for all baseball fans. Boston is especially exciting.
Many Boston establishments offer all types of Opening Day specials. Lux Bond & Green, official Red Sox jeweler is giving out free sausages from 12-2pm. JP Licks ice cream is offering $1 scoops all day and Exotic Flowers is trading 10 tulips for 10 Red Sox baseball cards.

The rain has postponed today’s game and we get to soak up the Opening Day Celebration again tomorrow.

Opening Day 4-4

Wow ! what an awesome experience today. got to check out the luxury boxes when we, Exotic Flowers, delivered over 40 arrangements to Fenway Park today.

The owners/partners box was truly awe inspiring ! the energy, excitement of seeing everyone including my staff be such a special part of opening day.

The Bill Buckner first pitch was great, but nothing beats those F-16’s flying overhead.

3-4 Last place for first time since 2005

No Big Deal. The season starts tomorrow. The rhythm begins. My guys are dropping off flowers at 9am for all the guest suites 41 in total and 2 arrangements for the family room. all the Exotic Flower arrangements are in red, white and blue. the arrangements include, red tulips and roses, white bouvardia and stock and blue delphinium.

so proud to be www.soxflorist.com

there should be a lot going in our stores tomorrow too. we are trading our ecuadorian roses for red sox baseball cards. definitely going to be a great day. i have been invited to a vip reception by the team to at the jordans third base deck.

the Tigers will be hungry, but we are the best team there. strong bullpen will the key this season.

The Big Hurt

Wow – this is rough. 3 countries in 2 weeks is not good for this team or any team. this is going to be a tough month. nobody has had a chance to get into a rhythm. and why did lugo hit in the ninth ?

glad to see Frank Thomas has not broken down. what an amazing series for him. many people are picking the jays and the Sox have to get these back from them. the jays are strong.

sorry to see kyle snyder go. he will be a great starter on a more mid sized team. keep in mind this guy was discarded by the royals, so his tenure with Boston really boosted his stock.

as I write this blog. I have seen some great ones. touch ’em all, the newberg report, time4baseball, oddball baseball collector and dirty sox.

by the way .. had the best mexican ever in the u.s. last night at la verdad. la verdad is right behind Fenway Park on Landsdowne street. get the mixed grill and fresh guacamole. the waitress was even great !!

psyched for work tomorrow at Exotic Flowers, Boston’s Premier Florist. We are creating over 40 arrangements for the Red Sox opener. My stores are also promoting opening day with a roses for baseball card event. on tuesday bring in any Red Sox baseball card for a rose (limit 3). stores are in Roslindale (7am-5pm) and Quincy Market (8am-9pm). also for the ridiculous to come by Red Sox tickets.. sign up for our newsletter and be automatically entered to win 2 box seats. www.exoticflowers.com/signup

Where art thou JD Drew ?

I was up with the rest of Boston on opening day. luckily i did not have direct tv as my friends did not the game til the 7th because of satellite problems. another luck charm for the day was Brandon Moss.Brandon_moss_action JD Drew continues to let down the Fenway faithful, but the great spring of Brandon Moss and his key homerun made up for it. Hopefully the Sox do not find a suitor like they did for David Murphy (who will find a fine career in Texas).

Up with the Rising Sun

I cannot wait til tomorrow morning. Opening Day, the best day of the year. like all Red Sox fans, I’ll be watching at 6am tomorrow. As Ted Williams used to say, it’s a long season and the wins and losses at the beginning count just as much as those in September.

Don’t forget. Sign up for my company’s newsletter and you are automatically entered to win 2 Box seats to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park in ’08. www.exoticflowers.com/signup
